USJ7 kebun komunity center

modular farm.

For this project, we are to design a community center for the suburban setting of USJ 7. This project involves integrating a strong design narrative in context with the masterplan and site as well as its local community. It further emphasizes on environmental sustainability strategies, connection with the site, intricate attention to detail on materiality and structural elements and creation of engaging user experience through the site's landscape and culture. Moving towards a future where sustainability is prioritized we are also to integrate passive design strategies to our designs to achieve sustainability goals.

reflection

This project has given me a valuable learning experience as I have gained a deeper insight on how to create a relationship between the community and the architecture through being sensitive to the context of the site and the local community. Furthermore, I have explored plenty of sustainable design strategies such as sustainable urban farming techniques and passive design ideas through materiality, structure, vegetations and integration of thoughtful softscaping. My proficiency in digital editing tools such as Photoshop and InDesign has increased as I have used extensively to create my final boards. I also have explored building structure that I can integrate to my design hence, enhancing my knowledge on structure and buildability in architecture. The extensive design experimentations with digital tools such as Revit has increased my proficiency on the software as well. Overall, this project was a fun learning experience that has tested my creative capabilities as well as problem solving and I have managed to improve my skillset, physically and digitally through this project.
