project 1b
architectural design strategy
crafting bonds through spaces
This project aims to establish a conceptual foundation for developing architectural strategies for the final project, centered on designing the Pudu Urban Heritage Gallery. Students will explore and define their own architectural perspectives to guide the gallery's design, each crafting a unique strategy that reflects their interpretation of the gallery's role within Pudu. Informed by the insights and issues of the site identified in Project 1a, these strategies will focus on enhancing urban design principles such as character, continuity, spatial enclosure, public space quality, ease of movement, legibility, adaptability, and diversity. The goal is to create a gallery that not only responds to its surroundings but also enriches Pudu's urban fabric.
reflection
In this project, I have gathered a deeper insight into Pudu in the form of its urban fabric, community and atmosphere. This gives me the opportunity to explore various ideas of a Pudu Heritage Gallery. I initially started with the concept of a gastronomic and market hub since the first thing that comes to my mind when Pudu is mentioned is its vibrant food and market culture as well as heavily explored on ways to enhance both visual and physical permeability with my site. To explore on architectural forms that takes in account of its urban context as well as to appear striking, mockup and 3D visualization was made. With all these progress made and comments from the P1B interim, the foundation was clear ready for more development for my final project.
