pudu tin gallery - a kinetic experience
This project centers on designing an Urban Heritage Gallery for the Pudu community, with a strong emphasis on integrating the building seamlessly into its urban context. The design must thoughtfully respond to the street environment and the behavioral patterns of users, as identified during the Preliminary Studies. The project is divided into two main stages: a) Architectural Strategy, where students will develop a comprehensive approach to the design, and b) Design Development and Detailing, where the focus will shift to refining the design and addressing intricate details. A key aspect of the project involves the design of the building’s façade. It is crucial that the new or proposed façade not only aligns with the gallery's function but also preserves and reflects the architectural character of Pudu's historic town. This requires careful consideration of materials, forms, and design elements to ensure the gallery contributes meaningfully to the urban landscape while respecting the heritage and identity of the area. Through these stages, students will aim to create a gallery that is both contemporary and sensitive to its historical and cultural surroundings.
