final design presentation and report

rebirth of the dragon.

In this phase, we took our design to the next level, refining and finalizing the scheme by incorporating environmental strategies, technological solutions, and passive cooling techniques to enrich user experiences. Guided by insightful lectures on poetics, tectonics, sustainability, and building compliance, we meticulously honed the structural and material aspects to enhance the project’s aesthetic, functional, and experiential qualities. The culmination of our efforts is reflected in the final presentation and report, showcasing innovative structural solutions, thoughtful design decisions, and a strong alignment with project goals and regulatory standards.

reflection

It’s still hard to believe that I’ve completed my Part 1. This semester has been a rollercoaster—filled with challenges and moments of doubt—but overall, it has been an incredibly rewarding experience. While not everything went as planned and there are aspects I wish I had done better, I truly enjoyed the journey and gained valuable insights along the way. There were times when I felt highly motivated, and others when personal struggles made it difficult to push forward. Looking back, I realize my project had the potential to be even better if I had conducted more in-depth research.

That said, I’m proud of the final presentation graphics. I dedicated a lot of time refining the color scheme and overall aesthetic, and it was satisfying to see it all come together. I’m especially grateful to my tutor, Ar. Prince, whose vast architectural knowledge and relaxed approach created an environment where I felt comfortable during critiques and always walked away with something new to think about.

This semester also deepened my appreciation for Ipoh. Before embarking on this project, I knew little about its unique identity and hidden charms, but now I’ve come to admire them. I also gained a newfound understanding of pottery—something I previously had no experience with.

Most importantly, I wouldn’t have made it through this final semester without the support of my friends, who made the studio environment so much more enjoyable, and of course, Ar. Prince, whose invaluable insights helped me grow and improve my work.

Thank You - ADP, Ar. Prince and Friends
