passive green building case studies

poster and booklet

In this project, we are to form a group of 5 and pick 2 green buildings, 1 from a tropical climate and the other from a different climactic region to critically analyze and compare them in terms of their green strategies and features. The analysis of both buildings emphasizes on site planning, day lighting, façade design, natural ventilation and strategic landscaping along with its spatial quality and experience. The case study is to be compiled into an A4 booklet and an A0 poster as the summarized version along with a video presentation on it.

reflection

Through this project, I have enhanced my ability to work in teams as well as the ability to critically analyze the green features and theories implemented in buildings. After this project, I have gained a deeper insight on the design considerations implemented to a building as green strategies, notably site planning, day lighting, façade design, natural ventilation and strategic landscaping. Furthermore, it has gave me inspiration and ideas on how I could implement green strategies to my Architectural Design final project to reach sustainability goals.
