A Trip to Favelas,
Rio De Janeiro
The favelas in Brazil are slums that are unregulated and neglected by the government. The slums there have a unique architecture of box shaped buildings with a flat roof stacked upon each other on the hills. Since the government has failed to give public services, the community there have to build shelters and provide sanitation, medical care and transportation for themselves.
